Missions Involvement

The North Central Missions Involvement Taskforce exists to call congregations to be on mission and to assist them in local missions and ministry. The taskforce focus is largely in two areas:

 

            • Ministry Need Discovery:  The taskforce seeks to keep an ear to the ground to discover unmet people needs within the geographical area of the North Central Region. Diligent

               prayer and prayerful listening, exploration, and discussion are invested towards determining potential ways individuals, congregations, or groups of congregations might sufficiently

               address the needs. The needs are then communicated to the appropriate people with the determined potential solution helps. 

 

            • Congregational Mission Assistance:  The taskforce seeks to make it as easy as possible for congregations to be on mission in their setting. There are two primary strategies

               currently utilized to assist congregational missions.

 

 

Regional Event Trailer – The taskforce provides an 18-foot trailer that is equippied with various items for conducting block parties, community outreach events, festivals, VBS, etc. The trailer contains two large inflatables, a popcorn machine, a snow-cone machine, a cotton candy machine, a 12-foot parachute, tables, a canopy, a generator, and other needed items for congregational use. This is an effort to make it as easy as possible for congregations to minister to their communities.

 

Annual Operation Inasmuch Emphasis - Usually the last Saturday in October is set aside as Operation Inasmuch Day. That date coincides with the national Friend Day emphasis. Congregations are encouraged to find ways to minister to the needs of their communities in a blitz type effort on that day (and as many other days as possible). Helps are provided with promotion, training, and facilitation.
